Last week, 2K announced when NBA 2K22 will arrive and who will be the cover stars, but contented itself with saying that information about the gameplay would be revealed "soon". They certainly did not underestimate.

Because even though the developers in Visual Concepts do not work extremely carefully, they now share more information about what is being improved and built on in NBA 2K22 Points. When it comes to basic gameplay, they say, for example, that it should be possible to use new, well-known tricks and techniques to deceive the defenders offensively, and that this aspect should reward smart players who are skilled with the controls to a much greater extent. Therefore, of course, changes await defensively also with completely new systems built around blocking and pressure.

Seasons will now affect almost the entire game, not just MyTEAM. Thus, we can look forward to a lot of extra free content such as cosmetic items, modes and the like in the months after launch.

Many MyTEAM fans will probably also be happy to hear that drafting is back, and will be far better maintained and updated than before.

Just like last year, there will be two quite different versions of the game based on whether you are on the latest consoles or the previous generation and PC. Among other things, the latter will once again have to settle for a Neighborhood that is far smaller than The City on PS5 and Xbox Series. The former will mainly be on a cruise ship that changes every season, but there will also be some times we can explore land to spruce things up on a regular basis. The City, on the other hand, should be more lively and offer more things to do. One example of the latter is a new Quest system that will give us new and entertaining ways to increase levels while offering more creative challenges. Then it's extra good to hear that Rookieville is not in NBA 2K22.

Maybe that's why MyCareer is merging into The City this time. In this way, the success you make in your career will also be reflected in the city and your life. After matches, for example, you can go to fashion companies in the hope of a deal, visit your agent or see even more people gather around your increasingly cooler area. On the older consoles, there will be a more traditional career mode.

Since it can still be difficult to find the new consoles, 2K also points out that you can take all MyTEAM progress, VC currency, MyTEAM Pointsand MyTEAM Token from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series.

If you want a more detailed overview of all this, you can click here, and look forward to far more information in August and the beginning of September.
